The Reo Wilde signature series Goat combines two of the most popular methods of activation into one unprecedented release. The Goat can be used as a thumb activated trigger release or hinge release in three easy steps, taking about 30 seconds to switch, the Goat comes with a half nickel plated brass, half black aluminum tapered handle, and articulating finger pieces to make the release a three or four finger configuration. The Goat in the package is set as a thumb activated release, with individual trigger travel and trigger sensitivity screws with locks. Remove a single dowel (step 1), turn sear lock screw clockwise until tight (step 2) and turn trigger lock screw clockwise until tight (step 3) to make the Goat a hinge style release, it is that simple! The Goat as a hinge comes standard with a medium click installed and a no click option can be achieved by flipping the sear 180 degrees. There will be an option for a fast click. I’ve been shooting a trigger style release for my entire life and wanted to dabble with a button or a hinge, but wasn’t sure which one would fit my style. As a hunter, I knew that a hinge might be a bit tricky, but that shooting a hinge would help with shooting form and target panic. On the other hand, I knew that the trigger might be the way to go for hunting situations in the event that a quick shot needs to be executed. The GOAT fit the bill since it’s two releases in one. The switch from button to hinge is super simple and it’s really nice that the settings for each style are ‘saved’ when you switch. Quality is what you’d expect from Truball, simply outstanding. Customizable 3rd/4th finger positions and thumb peg allows for fine tuning the feel and for hand size. I have large hands, but skinny fingers and took a gamble with the medium size, it’s comfortable and fits my hand perfectly.
