Comparing the Tethrd One Stick Features

Weight: The standout feature of the Tethrd One Stick is its weight. Coming in at just about 1 lb per stick (including ropes and attachments), it’s incredibly light compared to other options on the market. Tethrd achieves this by using aerospace-grade titanium, which is 50% lighter than steel and 300% stronger than aluminum. The 6061

Machining: CNC precision machined aluminum used for the one-piece step and standoff adds to the lightweight and durable design, making it a breeze to carry and maneuver in the field.

Attachment System: Tethrd’s patented DynaLoc tab simplifies the process of hanging your sticks, making it quick and easy. The ropes are rated for over 2,000 lbs, ensuring they’re more than up to the task. The versa button features an X-lock design, eliminating the need for buckles and making the stick secure on the tree in seconds, even in the dark.

Step/Standoff: The one-piece step and standoff is 8.5” wide, providing ample grip and stability when climbing. The generous standoff from the tree ensures that even hunters with larger feet won’t have any issues.

Compact and Quiet Stacking: Tethrd’s StickLoc stacking system is a game-changer. It allows you to stack the sticks tightly together, minimizing any noise during transport and ensuring they stay secure.

What sets these climbing sticks apart?

What really distinguishes the Tethrd One Stick is its combination of lightweight design, ease of use, and reliability. The lack of moving parts means there’s less that can go wrong, and the 1 lb per stick weight (including rope) is almost unbeatable. The DynaLoc system and X-lock design make setup quick, quiet, and secure, giving you peace of mind that your gear is rock-solid.

Our Impressions:

The reason for this Tethrd One Stick Review is because at Extreme Outfitters, we don’t just sell these sticks – we use them ourselves. Almost everyone in the shop has incorporated the Tethrd One Stick into their hunting setup in some capacity. They’ve been on the market for a few years now, and we’re still impressed by their durability, lightweight construction, and ease of use. It’s hard to find a system that can compete.

How We Use Them:

Personally, I run two of these sticks with an aider, along with either a platform or a hang-on stand. My hunting height varies from 8 to 15 feet depending on the location and canopy. I’m all about a lightweight, low-profile setup, and these sticks fit the bill perfectly.

I attach Alice pack straps to my platform and hang-on stand, wearing them like a backpack, and the sticks bungee right to whichever platform I’m using. This setup is streamlined, easy to access, and eliminates the need to carry unnecessary gear. When climbing, I hang my first step about head-high and attach my second stick to my saddle using a plastic S-biner. The aider, fixed to me, comes up as I climb, making the process quick, easy, and efficient.
