B3 Archery Flo Back Tension Review - Is This the Hinge Release for Bowhunters?
Hinge releases scare a lot of people. And honestly, that's fair — if you set one up wrong, it can go off at the wrong time in a bad way. But when you get a hinge dialed in correctly, it is one of the best things you can do for your shot process. The B3 Archery Flo is a premium hinge option, and we put it through its paces.
What Is the B3 Flo and Who's It For?
The Flo is B3's hinge-style back tension release. If you're familiar with the B3 Flo X, that's the thumb button version — this is the actual hinge. It works through rotation, which means it fires based on back tension through your shot, not a conscious trigger pull. That makes it a great training aid for cleaning up your shot process, working through target panic, or just building better habits over time.
One size, available in aluminum or brass depending on whether you want it lighter or heavier. And there's a serious amount of adjustability packed into it.

SHOP B3 FLO →The Adjustability
The body gives you index finger sizing, three or four finger configuration — you switch between them by rotating one piece — finger divider adjustment, and texture indentations inside for grip and repeatability. Don't want the divider? Pull it off and run a flat plate.
The thumb barrel has centered or offset options, pitch changes, and multiple position adjustments. The head has a micro-adjustable click for fine-tuning click speed, and manually adjustable travel — loosen the set screw, move it, lock it back down. Small adjustments. A little goes a long way.
A Word on Set Screws
Don't over-torque these screws. They're small, they're precise, and if you strip one out or snap it off, that's not covered under B3's warranty. Make your adjustments slowly and carefully — sixteenth of an inch at a time is the right mindset. This is not a release you crank on. It's one you finesse.

How It Shoots
Out of the box the click is strong — normal for a new release, it needs to break in. But even fresh, the feel in the hand is really good. Slim profile, nice ergonomics, very natural fit.
Always test adjustments on a shot trainer before going to the bow — that's the right move with any hinge. Once you get the click speed and travel dialed in, the Flo fires clean and crisp. Incredibly repeatable. It comes a little cold out of the box, but that's what the adjustments are for.
Should You Buy It?
If you're a bowhunter or target archer looking to clean up your shot process, work through target panic, or add a serious training tool to your practice — this is worth the investment. Made in the USA, full adjustability, and the more time you spend with it the more you're going to appreciate it.
