Ultraview UV Button 2 Review - Everything You Need to Know Before You Buy

So the UV Button 2 is out, and if you've been trying to get your hands on one you already know how hard they are to find. These things are flying off the shelf. But the real question is: is it actually a better release, or is UltraView just putting a new label on the old one? Let's break it down.

The Shorter Neck Is the Biggest Deal

Here's the thing if you've ever shot the original UV Button and felt like your draw length was just a little off, there's a real reason for that. The neck on the original runs long. It's subtle, but it adds up. The UV Button 2 cuts that neck down by about 20% roughly a quarter inch and it makes a real difference at full draw.

I noticed it immediately. Everything felt more natural, more consistent. I didn't feel like I had to shorten my draw length to make the release work. It just fit. That alone, for a lot of guys, is worth the upgrade.

Set Screws - Small Thing, Big Deal for Hunters

The original button had one real weakness: no set screws. Your travel adjustment, your force they could slowly back out over time. Nothing was locked down. And as a bow hunter, the last thing you want is your release shifting on you when you're in a tree stand.

They fixed that. The UV Button 2 has set screws on your adjustments. Once you dial it in, you lock it down and forget about it. That's the move right there.

Brass Instead of Stainless

They also swapped the stainless out for brass on the Button 2. It's a little lighter nothing crazy but you do notice it. And if you want to go even lighter, the aluminum option is still available on both versions. So you've got options depending on what feels right in your hand.

The Finger Beds Got an Upgrade Too

The new finger beds have these indentations built in little grooves that help your grip feel more repeatable. It's not a massive change, but in archery, repeatability is everything, right? You've got to do the same thing the same way every single time. Any little thing that helps with that is worth noting.

Profile Is Slightly Thinner

The overall profile on the Button 2 is a little slimmer than the original. I like it. It just feels cleaner in the hand. I read some complaints online about sharp edges honestly, I don't see it. Everything is smooth. It's got a sleek design and it sits great.

Sizing: They Changed the Names, Not Really the Sizes

Medium and large are now Standard and XL. Same sizing, different labels. If you wear a large or XL glove, go with the XL. Everyone else, stick to the Standard.

Should You Actually Upgrade?

If you've already got the original UV Button it's still a great release. I'm not going to sit here and tell you it's garbage, because it's not. But if that longer neck has been bugging you, the Button 2 is worth it just for that.

If you don't have a thumb button yet and you're getting into one for the first time — this is a no-brainer. Get the Button 2. The set screws, the shorter neck, the cleaner profile it's just the better version. Don't buy the original when this one exists.

One More Thing - Availability

Here's the reality: these are made in the US (UltraView moved everything in-house in 2025), and they're slow to produce. As fast as they come in, they go right back out the door.
