You want a hunting shaft that gives you options — small diameter, lower GPI, and enough component flexibility to build around your setup. That’s where the Easton 5.0 Match Grade stands out. Built on Easton’s 5mm Acu-Carbon platform, the 5.0 gives you the flexibility to build a lighter, faster arrow or add more front-end weight while keeping finished arrow weight under control.

Key Features

5MM Acu-Carbon Construction

The 5mm diameter helps reduce wind resistance downrange and reduces shaft friction during penetration. Combined with the relatively low GPI of the 5.0 platform, that gives you more flexibility when building around speed, finished arrow weight, and front-of-center balance.

Match Grade ±.001" Straightness

The Match Grade version carries a ±.001" straightness specification for archers who want a more consistent shaft when building hunting or 3D arrows.

Bare Shaft — Built Your Way

This is the bare shaft version, so it ships unfletched and ready to be built around your setup. Choose your vane, fletching configuration, nock color, arrow length, and component package instead of being locked into a factory-fletched configuration.

Microlite™ 5MM Nock System

The Easton 5.0 uses the Microlite 5mm nock system, featuring a compact nock body and redesigned throat intended to provide consistent string fit and arrow release.

HIT Insert System with Collars Included

The Easton 5.0 Match Grade uses Easton’s 8-32 HIT insert system. Match Grade HIT collars are also included, giving you a complete front-end component system to build around.

Who It's Built For

The Easton 5.0 Match Grade is a strong choice for bowhunters who want flexibility in finished arrow weight and FOC. Because the shaft starts with a relatively low GPI for a 5mm hunting arrow, you have room to add front-end component weight without immediately ending up with an excessively heavy finished arrow.

If speed and trajectory are the priority, you can keep the component package lighter. If you want more front-end weight for a hunting setup, the lower shaft weight gives you room to increase insert or point weight while still managing total arrow weight.

That makes the 5.0 especially useful for custom builds where arrow weight, FOC, spine, and component selection are being chosen around the shooter’s draw length, draw weight, arrow length, and intended use.

Extreme Outfitters stocks the Easton 5.0 Match Grade in 250, 300, 340, and 400 spine, and we sell shafts individually so you can build exactly the quantity you need.

Our Take on the Easton 5.0 Match Grade

The biggest reason we like the Easton 5.0 isn’t simply that it’s a 5mm arrow — it’s how much flexibility the lower GPI gives us when we’re building arrows for customers.

With a heavier shaft, you can run out of room quickly once you start adding insert weight, collars, a broadhead, wraps, and heavier vanes. The 5.0 gives us more room to put weight where we actually want it instead of starting with an unnecessarily heavy shaft.

For a hunting build, that means we can add front-end component weight to increase FOC while still keeping finished arrow weight in a practical range. On the other end, someone who prioritizes trajectory and speed can keep the front-end package lighter and build a faster finished arrow.

That versatility is why the 5.0 Match Grade has become one of our go-to shafts at Extreme Outfitters. It gives us the ability to tailor the finished arrow around the shooter’s draw length, draw weight, arrow length, and intended use rather than forcing every shooter into the same type of arrow build.

We sell these shafts individually, and free cut and glue is available with your arrow purchase. If you want a complete custom build with vanes, wraps, nocks, and component installation, our bow techs can handle that as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Easton 5.0 Match Grade fletched or bare?

This is the bare shaft version. It ships unfletched so you can choose your own vane, fletching configuration, nock color, and overall build.

What spine sizes does Extreme Outfitters carry?

We stock the Easton 5.0 Match Grade in 250, 300, 340, and 400 spine. Proper spine depends on several factors including draw weight, draw length, arrow length, and front-end weight. If you’re unsure which spine you need, our bow techs can help you select the right option for your setup.

What insert system does the Easton 5.0 use?

The 5.0 uses Easton’s 8-32 HIT insert system. Match Grade HIT collars are included with the Match Grade shaft.

Can Extreme Outfitters cut and build these arrows for me?

Yes. Free cut and glue is available with your arrow purchase. If you want a full custom build with vanes, wraps, nocks, or additional component installation, our techs can build the arrow to your specifications.

What is the straightness tolerance?

The Easton 5.0 Match Grade carries a ±.001" straightness specification.

Is the Easton 5.0 better for hunting or target shooting?

It can work well for both. The 5mm diameter and lower GPI make it especially useful for custom hunting builds, while the Match Grade straightness specification also makes it a strong option for 3D archers who want a consistent shaft.

What field point size fits the Easton 5.0?

Field point outside diameter depends on spine. The 250 spine uses a 9/32" field point diameter, while the 300, 340, and 400 spine shafts use 17/64". Refer to the specification table above for your specific spine.

Does the Easton 5.0 come with nocks?

Yes. The Easton 5.0 uses Easton’s Microlite 5mm nock system.

What is the difference between the Easton 5.0 and Easton Axis 5mm?

Both are 5mm carbon arrow platforms, but the 5.0 uses a lower-GPI design that gives you more flexibility when choosing finished arrow weight and front-end component weight. The Axis uses a heavier shaft platform in comparable spines. Which one makes more sense depends on your draw length, draw weight, intended use, and finished-arrow goals.

Want the Convenience of a Factory-Fletched Arrow?

If you like the Easton 5.0 Match Grade platform but don’t need a fully custom fletching setup, the Easton 5.0 Match Grade Fletched Arrow gives you the same 5mm Match Grade shaft with factory-installed 3" AAE Hybrid Stealth vanes.

Choose the bare shaft if you want complete control over vane style, vane color, fletching orientation, and the rest of your arrow build. Choose the fletched version if you want to start with a quality factory fletching setup and focus on arrow length, spine, and front-end components.
