The Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Fletched Arrow is built for bowhunters who want a lighter, reduced-diameter carbon arrow without having to start with a bare shaft. This Extreme Outfitters configuration combines Easton’s seamless Acu-Carbon construction and Match Grade ±.001" straightness with AAE Hybrid 26 vanes for a ready-to-build hunting or 3D setup.

The relatively low GPI of the Sonic 6.0 gives you room to decide where your finished-arrow weight comes from. Keep the component package lighter for more speed and a flatter trajectory, or add front-end weight to build a heavier hunting arrow without starting with an excessively heavy shaft.

Key Features

6MM Reduced-Diameter Acu-Carbon Construction

The Sonic 6.0 uses Easton’s 100% carbon Acu-Carbon construction in a reduced-diameter 6mm shaft. The smaller profile reduces the amount of shaft exposed to crosswind compared with larger-diameter arrows while maintaining a straightforward component system.

Match Grade ±.001" Straightness

The Sonic 6.0 Match Grade carries a ±.001" straightness specification for archers and bowhunters who want tighter shaft consistency in a hunting or 3D arrow.

Pre-Fletched with AAE Hybrid 26 Vanes

This Extreme Outfitters configuration comes pre-fletched with AAE Hybrid 26 vanes, giving you the convenience of a finished fletching setup while still allowing you to customize arrow length, spine, insert weight, broadhead weight, and the rest of the finished build.

Lower GPI for More Build Flexibility

One of the biggest strengths of the Sonic 6.0 is its relatively low grains-per-inch weight. That gives you more room to manipulate insert weight, broadhead weight, finished arrow mass, and FOC without immediately ending up with an excessively heavy finished arrow.

23-Grain HP Inserts Included

The current Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade includes 23-grain HP inserts with standard 8-32 threads. This provides a straightforward starting point for most hunting builds while maintaining compatibility with conventional field points and broadheads.

Standard 8-32 Broadhead Compatibility

The Sonic 6.0 accepts standard-thread 8-32 broadheads and field points, making it easy to build around commonly available hunting components.

Pre-Installed 6MM H Nocks

Easton installs 6mm H nocks at the factory, giving you a complete rear component system designed around the 6mm shaft.

Heavier Brass Insert Option Available

If you want additional front-end weight, Extreme Outfitters carries Easton 6mm Brass Inserts. These break-off inserts can be configured at 50 or 75 grains, giving you considerably more front-end weight than the included 23-grain HP insert.

Increasing insert weight also increases finished arrow weight and dynamically weakens the shaft. Spine, finished arrow length, draw weight, and broadhead weight should all be considered before moving to a heavier insert.

Who It's Built For

The Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Fletched Arrow is a strong option for bowhunters who want a lighter carbon hunting shaft with the convenience of the vanes already installed.

It works particularly well for shooters who want to maintain useful arrow speed and trajectory while still having room to add front-end component weight. Rather than having most of the finished-arrow weight dictated by a heavy shaft, the Sonic gives you more flexibility to place that weight where it makes sense for the individual build.

The lighter GPI can be especially useful for shorter draw lengths or lower draw weights. Starting with too much shaft weight can make it difficult for those shooters to maintain practical speed once normal hunting components are added.

The Sonic 6.0 is not limited to lightweight builds, either. Higher-poundage shooters can use the same lower-GPI starting point and add heavier inserts or broadheads when a moderate-to-heavy finished hunting arrow is the goal.

The 6mm diameter also makes the Sonic a practical middle ground for someone who wants a reduced-diameter hunting arrow without moving all the way into a 5mm or 4mm platform.

Our Take on the Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Fletched Arrow

The Sonic 6.0 makes a lot of sense when we want more freedom to build the finished arrow around the shooter instead of starting with a lot of shaft weight.

The lower GPI gives us room to decide where we want that weight. For a speed-oriented setup, we can keep the insert and broadhead package relatively light and take advantage of the Sonic’s lower shaft mass. If we want a heavier hunting build, we can add front-end weight without automatically ending up with an excessively heavy finished arrow.

That flexibility is especially useful for shorter draw lengths and lower draw weights. Those shooters can lose speed quickly with a heavier shaft once normal hunting components are added. Starting with the Sonic gives us more room to keep finished weight and trajectory in a practical range.

For higher draw weights, the same concept works in the other direction. We can start with the lighter shaft and use a heavier component system when we intentionally want more finished mass or additional front-end weight. The 50/75-grain Easton 6mm Brass Insert gives us an easy way to do that when the setup calls for it.

The advantage of this version is that the AAE Hybrid 26 vanes are already installed. If you do not need a fully customized fletching configuration, you can start here and focus on the parts of the arrow that still need to be matched to the shooter — spine, finished length, insert weight, and broadhead selection.

As always, we do not recommend chasing one number. More FOC, more arrow weight, or more speed is not automatically better. Draw length, draw weight, finished arrow length, spine, component weight, broadhead choice, and intended use all need to work together.

Extreme Outfitters sells these arrows individually, and free cut and glue is available with your arrow purchase. If you are unsure about spine, finished arrow length, or insert weight, our bow techs can help you put together the complete arrow around your setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What vanes come on this Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Arrow?

This Extreme Outfitters configuration comes pre-fletched with AAE Hybrid 26 vanes.

What is the straightness specification?

The Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade carries a ±.001" straightness specification.

What spine sizes are offered on this fletched version?

Extreme Outfitters currently offers this Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Fletched Arrow in 300 and 340 spine.

What inserts come with the Sonic 6.0 Match Grade?

The current Sonic 6.0 Match Grade includes Easton’s 23-grain 6mm HP inserts with standard 8-32 threads.

Can I add more front-end weight to the Sonic 6.0?

Yes. Extreme Outfitters carries Easton 6mm Brass Inserts that can be configured at either 50 or 75 grains if you want more front-end weight than the included 23-grain HP insert provides.

Adding insert weight also increases finished arrow weight and dynamically weakens the shaft, so spine needs to be considered before making a major component-weight change.

Is the Sonic 6.0 a good hunting arrow?

Yes. The Sonic 6.0 is a lightweight, all-purpose hunting platform. Its relatively low GPI makes it especially useful when you want flexibility in finished arrow weight, speed, and front-end component selection.

Is the Sonic 6.0 only for lightweight arrow builds?

No. The lower shaft weight actually gives you flexibility in both directions. You can keep the component package light for a faster finished arrow or add heavier inserts and broadheads when you want more total arrow mass.

Who benefits most from a lower-GPI shaft?

Lower-GPI shafts can be especially useful for shorter draw lengths and lower draw weights because they give you more room to add normal hunting components without making the finished arrow excessively heavy. They can also work well for higher-poundage shooters who want more freedom to determine where the finished arrow’s weight is located.

What is the difference between a 6mm and 5mm hunting arrow?

A 5mm shaft has a smaller outside diameter, reducing exposed shaft surface area further. A 6mm platform like the Sonic typically uses a simpler component system and can provide an excellent balance of reduced diameter, speed, and build flexibility. The better option depends on your finished-arrow goals and intended use.

Can Extreme Outfitters cut these arrows to length?

Yes. Free cut and glue is available with your arrow purchase. If you need help choosing finished length, spine, or insert weight, our bow techs can also help you determine the appropriate setup.

Should I buy the fletched Sonic 6.0 or the bare shaft?

Choose this fletched version if you want the convenience of AAE Hybrid 26 vanes already installed. Choose the bare shaft if you want complete control over vane model, vane color, orientation, and the rest of your fletching setup.

Prefer to Build Your Own Fletching Setup?

If you want complete control over vane selection, colors, orientation, and your finished fletching configuration, the Easton Sonic 6.0 Match Grade Bare Shaft gives you the same lightweight Match Grade 6mm platform without the pre-installed vanes.

Choose this pre-fletched version if you want the convenience of the AAE Hybrid 26 setup already installed. Choose the bare shaft if you want to customize the fletching from the ground up.
