If you've been looking for a structured, hands-on way to get your kid into archery — not just a group activity where they take a few shots and go home — this is it. The Extreme Outfitters Youth Archery Camp is a 5-day program designed for new and beginner archers ages 8–17, taught indoors on our Jacksonville range by instructors who actually shoot. Every session is capped at 10 campers so every kid gets real instruction time, real feedback on their form, and real reps behind the bow. By Day 5 they're competing on a 3D course and walking away with a basic understanding of archery fundamentals.
All equipment provided. All indoors. No experience required.
WHAT CAMPERS LEARN
DAY 1 — INTRODUCTION & FOUNDATIONS
Equipment overview covering compound vs. recurve bows, range safety rules, and the fundamentals of shooting form — stance, grip, draw, anchor, release, and follow-through. Every camper gets their first arrows on the range before the session ends.
DAY 2 — TARGET ARCHERY
How to read and score a target face. 3-spot and traditional scoring explained. Campers shoot from multiple distances and track their scores end by end. Includes a bullseye scoring game that builds awareness of shot placement and keeps the energy up.
DAY 3 — 3D ARCHERY
How 3D scoring works, vital zone identification on animal targets, and distance estimation without a rangefinder. Campers run a mini 3D course and score their own arrows. This is the day that hooks them — 3D targets beat paper every time.
DAY 4 — GEAR & SKILL STATIONS
Arrow anatomy, field points vs. broadheads, bow tuning basics, and what all the components on a bow actually do. Campers rotate through skill stations with individual instructor feedback — form check, close-range accuracy, and a distance max-out challenge.
DAY 5 — COMPETITION & CELEBRATION
Balloon shooting, ice cream, treats and fun to close out the week!
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- All archery equipment — bow, arrows, arm guard, finger tab

WHO IT'S BUILT FOR
This camp is built for kids ages 8–17 who have little to no archery experience and want to learn the right way — from people who actually shoot. Day 1 starts from zero, so no prior experience is required. Kids with some background will still benefit from structured instruction and the 3D and competition format in the back half of the week. Campers are welcome to bring their own bow if they have one. If not, all equipment is provided.

WHY EXTREME OUTFITTERS
We're a specialty archery and bowhunting pro shop — not a general summer camp operation that added archery to the activity list. The people teaching your kid shoot competitively and hunt. They know the difference between a proper anchor point and a guess, and they'll give your kid real feedback, not participation-trophy coaching.
The small group cap means no kid gets lost in the crowd. The indoor range means weather never cancels a session. And because we're a working shop, parents who come for pickup have access to gear, arrows, and starter packages on the spot — so when your kid catches the bug on Day 3, you don't have to wait a week for something to ship.
Not sure which session week is right or have a question about the curriculum? Give us a call Monday through Saturday — real people answer the phone at Extreme Outfitters and we'll get you sorted.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES MY CHILD NEED ANY ARCHERY EXPERIENCE?
No. Camp starts from zero on Day 1 — equipment, safety, and first arrows on the range. Kids with some experience will still benefit from structured instruction and the 3D and competition format in the back half of the week.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS THEIR OWN BOW?
They're welcome to bring it. We'll confirm it's range-appropriate before the session. All equipment is also provided if they don't have their own — no need to purchase anything before camp.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the camp week starts. Within 7 days of the session start, we offer a credit toward a future camp session. No refunds after camp begins.
CAN I SIGN UP MORE THAN ONE CHILD?
Yes — add each child as a separate registration. Siblings save $20 on the second registration. Contact us after purchase to apply the sibling discount and we'll take care of it manually.
WHAT IF A SESSION IS SOLD OUT?
Email us at sales@extremeoutfitters.com with your preferred session week and we'll contact you first if a spot opens or if we add a second session. Sessions are capped at 10 — once they're gone, they're gone.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I DROP OFF AND PICK UP?
Drop-off begins at 9:45 am. Camp runs 10:00 am–12:00 pm sharp. Please pick up by 12:15 pm.
WILL THERE BE PHOTOS TAKEN DURING CAMP?
We may photograph camp activities and awards for use on our social media and website. If you'd prefer your child not be photographed, let us know at drop-off on Day 1 and we'll make a note for instructors.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Not a concern — camp is entirely indoors on our archery range. Weather has zero impact on the schedule.
