[10 Best] Survival Gear to have in 2022 if things go South

Get organized if SHTF. Check out these 10 Survival Gear must haves.

With the crazy world we live in today, it’s easy to be a little panicked, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you’re certain you want to be prepared in case the worst happens, you’ll need to plan ahead of time, so you don’t overlook anything.

Going beyond the obvious pieces of survival equipment: backpack, knife, rope, jacket, etc… and assuming you already got those covered, making sure you have the right survival gear and supplies is crucial, but if you make a list, the task is a lot easier. This way, you won’t forget anything important, and below are 10 of the items that need to be on your survival gear list for 2022.

#1

A Medical Kit: What All Survival Gear Lists Should Include \

Safety First. These Medical kits are designed to work with most medical pouches on the market and are vacuum sealed, which means you are guaranteed that everything inside is 100% authentic.

They usually include items such as bear claw gloves, hemostatic gauze, emergency trauma dressing, and chest seals, to name a few. When it comes to emergency supplies, medical kits are a must.

#2

A Good Headlamp \

Headlamps provide invaluable assistance in numerous situations, and for the best results, you should look for one with a high lumens number and excellent visibility. Some of these headlamps come with numerous lighting modes so they can accommodate you regardless of what you intend to do with them.

They will run for around seven to eight hours on high and longer if you use a lower setting. A good headlamp is a must-have item when putting together your survival gear.

#3

A Tarp \

You may not believe you need a tarp, but they can come in handy in numerous situations. You can hang it between two trees to make a tent, set it up to reflect some heat when your fire is all set up, use it to patch a roof in an emergency, and even use it as a shower curtain.

There are numerous types of tarps on the market, so finding the right one to meet your needs is usually very simple to do.

Water Filtration System | Survioval Gear

#4

A Water Filtration System \

Portable water filters can be attached to a disposable water bottle, or you can simply fill them up with water and drink directly from them. They get rid of 99.99% of bacteria such as salmonella and E. coli, and they help the water taste a lot better. These are usually very inexpensive systems that can last up to 100,000 gallons of water, so they last a very long time.

A High-Voltage Stun Gun

#5

A High-Voltage Stun Gun \

To be completely safe off the grid, you need a non-lethal weapon that allows you to stop someone in their tracks and then get to safety, and this is the perfect device to do just that. Using a stun gun on someone brings them down quickly and disables them temporarily, allowing you to do whatever you need to do next to make sure you’re safe and in no danger.

#6

A Good Fire Starter \

There are numerous types of fire starters made to add to your survival gear collection. Look for one that will work even in inclement weather conditions, and which lasts through 10,000 to 12,000 strikes. Many of these fire starters also have emergency whistles on them, as well as other conveniences, so they do a lot more than just start a fire.

Take a look at the VSSL Camp Supplies Mini Suunto Edition. This kit is the most portable and durable kit of its kind, a smart collection of outdoor safety and first aid essentials that fits neatly in your hand. It includes an ultra-bright 200 Lumens LED light, a Suunto Compass, weather-resistant Firestarter Kit, Rope and Razor Kit, Sewing Kit, and a Small First Aid Kit. Awesome.

Multi-Tool

#7

A Multipurpose Survival Tool \

This one is often overlooked in most survival gear lists, a Multipurpose tool. Don’t just get a standard Swiss army knife; instead, get a survival tool that is specifically designed for this purpose. Make sure it has needle-nose pliers on it because this is one tool, you’ll find yourself using again and again. Repairing things, putting things together, and just doing what it takes to survive can require a lot of different tools, so make sure your survival tool does a lot.

#8

A Knife Blade Sharpener \

What good is your knife if you have nothing to sharpen it with? Make sure your supplies include a high-quality knife sharpener. A dull knife can cause more harm than a sharp one, and in an emergency situation, a sharp knife is a must. Blade sharpeners will ensure that any knife you own is sharp enough to do the job it’s supposed to do.

Camping Electronics

#9

Electronics Essentials \

Let’s face it. You cannot fully disconnect even in an emergency. That’s why, based on my experience, I strongly suggest you carry these essential electronics to increase your chances of safety: a handheld GPS or a GPS Watch (preferably solar), a portable computer, a mobile phone (preferably a non-smart phone) to test and use your local GSM or CDMA communication bands. Finally, a solar powered/rechargeable power bank with plenty of juice (you want to decrease your reliance in disposable batteries).

Binoculars | Survival Gear

#10

Compact Binoculars \

Binoculars are the ultimate survival gear, but for this purpose you won’t want a regular sized set. Instead, get some compact binoculars so they won’t be hard to carry with you wherever you go. All of these items can make any emergency situation a lot easier for you, and fortunately most of them are very easy to find.

This is not part of our survival gear list of 2022, but other gear you might want to consider is a Bike. If you suddenly need to head out to a bug-out location, you might very well need a form of transportation other than a car.

A good survival bike, often advertised as a bug-out bike, can be priceless when you really need it. It is specifically made to be powerful yet compact, and they cost a lot less than you think. Finally, a survival bike always beats walking, especially with long distances!

I hope you consider this list. If you feel we should include some other items in this kit, let us know in the comments below.
